Validating Limiting Beliefs

The ego in each of us loves to be right. In fact, the ego believes it must be right. So, whatever stories we tell ourselves, the ego will always seek to validate them.
For example, if I believe that (a) there is such a thing as human ugliness and (b) I believe that I am indeed ugly, every single time I look in the mirror I will see someone ugly. It doesn’t matter how often those closest to me affirm me and tell me I’m beautiful. If I believe I’m ugly, my subconscious mind will find all the ways to validate my belief.
This is why the only real way to change your life is to change your beliefs. Most of our beliefs are running at the subconscious level. The way to change limiting beliefs is to prove them wrong. How can you do this? By showing up and doing the daily work.
Another example. I have clients who don’t believe they can lose the weight they want to lose. They’ve validated the belief that they can’t lose weight for years by overeating and not exercising. The way to shatter this belief is by eating healthy and exercising. In other words, doing the daily work regardless of the feelings and thoughts that reappear to affirm the limiting belief. Over time (and it can happen rapidly), the belief will change. As the weight falls off, the limiting belief can no longer be sustained.
In hypnosis, this is incredibly exciting and fun because we can stack up many limiting beliefs at once and crush them, creating new space for new beliefs to form; beliefs that are filled with possibility. Come work with me in my mentoring practice and I’ll show you how!
